We facilitate donations from the community and the distribution of donated items to anyone who needs it.
Donate Goods or VolunteerWe invite donations of clothing, bedding, toys, books, car seats and other household goods. We only ask they be in good condition, do not need repair, and meet all current safety regulations. The latter requirement is especially relevent to car seats. We operate as much as possible on the goodwill and efforts of volunteers.
Donate MoneyWe cannot fully function without money to cover essential operating expenses. We therefore ask you to consider donating to us either as a one-off contribution or as a regular contributor. If you are interested in donating money, or just wanting to find out more, then please contact us using the link below.
CLOTHES AND SHOES
We gladly take your unwanted shoes and clothing, but we do ask they are clean and do not need repairing. We accept all sizes and types.
TOYS AND BOOKS
Every child delights in having a toy ! Books help their development. They must be in good condition and meet safety requirements.
If your child has outgrown their car seat then we can use it. However it must have a current certification.
Clean, dry firewood helps a family stay warm in winter meaning they live in a healthier environment.
Does your business give grants to community organisations ? Then please consider supporting us.Speak to us to see how we can publicise your grant.
BEDDING AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS
Beds, bed linen, kitchenware or furniture can make such a difference to a family. However they must not need repair and be safe for use.
We have some unavoidable financial costs, such as insurance and mandatory administration so your contribution is very welcome. It also funds specific projects such as the distribution of new clothing or food packs. Perhaps you might consider a regular contribution ?
If you can spare some time and would like to help us, then we’d love to hear from you !
Here’s what some of the people we’ve helped have said
Helping Families helped me and my children out when I really needed it. I was not judged by asking for help, and they made me feel at ease while I was looking through everything. I don’t often like asking for help, but I know if I need it they will not hesitate to help me again. And I find now if I have stuff I no longer need I will donate it to them. A very lovely bunch of ladies who go out of their way to help anyone who needs it. Well done to all of you and thank you very much for helping my wee family when we really did need it.
I’m a solo mum of four, and I am a month from having baby number five. Recently, Helping Families kindly donated me a cot, in excellent condition, for my wee girl when she arrives. And they even delivered it to my door! Thank you so much Helping Families for my baby’s bed, which I could not otherwise afford. You are wonderful. God bless.
I came to the kids’ free giveaway clothing today and just wanted to say thank you! to all you beautiful ladies for what you do.I’m a single mum of 5 children who struggles, as I know other mothers and parents do. This giveaway has meant a lot to us because I was able to have my little ones sorted for the warmer weather. We are feeling really blessed. Thank you again!
